JavaScript is a lightweight, open-source and cross-platform programming. It is designed for creating network-centric applications. It is complementary to and integrated with Java. It is used to add interactivity to a website. Examples can be taken of games or in the behavior of responses when buttons are pressed or with data entry on forms, with dynamic styling, with animation. In essence, it can be said that javascript adds functionality or dynamic nature to a website. Its usage has now extended to mobile app development, desktop app development, and game development. There are many beneficial Javascript frameworks and libraries available:

1. LightWeight Scripting Language — It is a lightweight scripting language because it is made for data handling at the browser only. It is only meant for client-side execution and that too for web applications, hence the lightweight nature of JavaScript is a great feature.

2. Validating User’s Input — It shows its importance while filling in forms as it can validate user input for errors and also saves time. If the user leaves a required field empty or the information is incorrect and also checks them before sending the data over to the server.

3. Dynamic Typing — It also provides a feature of JavaScript that supports dynamic typing which means types of the variable are defined based on the stored value.

4. Object-Oriented Programming Support — Starting from ES6, the concept of class and OOPs has been more refined. Also, features like Object Creation patterns (Encapsulation) and Code Reuse patterns (Inheritance) have given more importance.

5. Functional Style — JS uses a functional approach i.e, objects are created from the constructor functions and each constructor function represents a unique object type. Functions in JavaScript can be used as objects and can be passed to other functions too.

6. Platform Independent — It is platform-independent which means it is portable i.e, one can simply write the script once and run it anywhere and anytime or the JavaScript applications can run on any platform or any browser without affecting the output of the Script.

7. Prototype-based Language — In JavaScript, we define object prototype and then further objects can be created using this object prototype.

8. Async Processing — It enables asynchronous requests wherein a request is initiated and JavaScript doesn’t have to wait for the response, which at times blocks the request processing. Also starting from ES8, requests are processed parallelly which has a positive effect on the processing time, reducing it to a great extent.

9. More control in Browser — JavaScript provides control to the browser, being a client-side language provides many features that help developers to divide processing between browser and server hence reducing the load on servers by having basic processing, validations, temporary data saving using cookies, etc on the browser itself. It is capable of detecting the user’s browser and OS information.

Almost every website uses JavaScript, even if we try to use facebook’s website after disabling JavaScript, it wouldn’t allow us to log in, this may show the importance of JavaScript in Facebook. The dynamic aspect to its website is provided by JavaScript, even if we inspect the code, we will end up getting only JavaScript code. These multiple scripts help to render various other pages of Facebook quickly. Additionally, Facebook is the one who created React.js, the most reactive framework of JavaScript which is also used in Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.


Google of course uses JavaScript, whenever we start typing in the search box, it gives us suggestions. It’s all because of JavaScript. Nobody can ever imagine using the Internet without Google and the dynamic nature of Google is provided by JavaScript. Google is also the creator of one of the most popular front-end frameworks, Angular.


Backend developers use a type of JavaScript called Node.js for backend work. The Node.js framework allows a developer to handle data updates from the front end and build scalable network applications able to process many simultaneous user requests, amongst other things. Mobile Applications are classified into three categories Native, WebApp, and Hybrid. The Hybrid applications can be deployed in a native container that uses a mobile WebView object. When the app is used, this object displays web content thanks to the use of web technologies (CSS, JavaScript, HTML, HTML5). It is displaying web pages from a desktop website that are adapted to a WebView display. The web content can either be displayed as soon as the app is opened or for certain parts of the app only i.e. for the purchase funnel. Many JavaScript frameworks for Mobile Apps are jQuery Mobile, React Native, NativeScript, Apache Cordova, Ionic, Titanium.
